Simple notes. Deeper focus.

Ink is a plain-text writing app for Apple-silicon Macs running macOS 15 or later. Use it for quick notes, journals and longer drafts.

Feedback

Open About Ink to ask a question, suggest an improvement or report a problem through your mail app. Tell us what happened and include the Ink and macOS versions if useful. Avoid including private document content.

Your writing

Scratch tabs are kept in Ink’s local session. Save important writing to a file using Save or Save As. You choose the location. Ink does not synchronize documents itself; files in a cloud-provider folder follow that provider’s behavior.

If Ink says it could not preserve the session, keep the window open and use Retry, Save Current As or Save All. Saving a file protects its writing; it does not repair the session store.

Free and Pro

The Free app includes Workspace and Simple views, Markdown preview, Diary Mode, Lined Paper, Find and Replace, Quick Open, Print/PDF, pinning and Keep on Top.

Pro adds Focus and Deep Focus, Version Timeline, custom themes, Section Map and writing goals. The four-week app-managed trial starts only when you choose it. It does not automatically charge you or create a subscription.

Purchases

Open Ink Pro from the application menu for purchase and Restore Purchases controls. Restore with the Apple Account that made the purchase.

Annual is an auto-renewable subscription. Lifetime is a separate one-time purchase. Buying Lifetime does not cancel Annual; use the subscription-management guidance in Ink to stop Annual renewal if needed. Apple handles payment and refund requests.
