Ink Privacy Policy

Ink is developed by Daniel Boutrup. For privacy questions or requests, contact danielboutrup@gmail.com.

Your writing stays in your files

Ink stores document sessions, preferences and version history locally on your Mac. Ink does not send document text to an Ink server or to RevenueCat. You choose where to save files. If you choose a cloud-provider folder, that provider handles the file under its own terms and privacy policy.

Ink’s Markdown preview does not load remote images. Sharing, exporting and sending feedback are actions you choose.

Purchases

Apple processes App Store payments. Ink uses RevenueCat to validate purchases, restore access and determine which Pro features are available. RevenueCat processes purchase history and subscription status using an anonymous app user identifier. Its service also provides purchase analytics. Ink does not ask you to create an account or provide your name or email to RevenueCat.

See RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy and Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Trial status

When you choose to start the app-managed trial, Ink records its start time, the last observed time and how the trial began. This small record is kept in the Mac’s Keychain and Apple’s iCloud key-value storage to preserve trial eligibility. It contains no document text. Removing the app does not necessarily remove its Keychain or iCloud trial record.

Feedback and support

Feedback opens your mail app. You decide whether to send it. The developer receives your email address, message and any information you include, and uses them to respond and resolve the issue. The composer can include system information when you choose that option; it does not automatically include document text.

Advertising and tracking

Ink has no advertising and does not use purchase history to track you across other companies’ apps or websites for advertising.

This website

These support pages do not include advertising, analytics scripts or cookies. The website is hosted by Simply.com. The hosting service may process ordinary connection information, such as IP addresses and requested pages, to deliver and protect the website. External links lead to services with their own privacy policies.

Your choices

You control the files you save and can manage retained versions through Ink’s storage controls. Purchase records and subscriptions are managed by Apple; third-party records follow the relevant provider’s policies. Contact the developer for access, correction or deletion requests concerning information you sent directly, or other privacy questions. Do not send private writing unless it is necessary for your request.
